Cub Kars 2013

1st Wodonga's Cubs attended the regional Cub Kars event held at the Yackandandah Scout Hall in force this year with most of the pack creating and racing a Kar.

The cars were of many different designs.

  

The rules were read out and then the list of Kars to be raced were announced:

 

 Then the races began:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Finally after many heats the finalists were determined.

 Till eventually a winner was found.

 Displaying his trophy.

 We also won the annual group award.

 Most of the cubs showing off their winnings and Kars.

ANZAC DAY 2013

On the 25th of April 2013 1st Wodonga  provided support to Wodonga's ANZAC parade and ceremonies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

Clean Up Australia Day

On Monday the 4th of March a contingent from 1st Wodonga Scout Group participated in the Clean Up Australia Day at Willow Park in Wodonga.

Cubs Bring A Friend Night Feb 2013

On the 28th of February the Cubs held a bring a friend night. 

At the parade they introduced themselves and their friend to the pack.

 

 The flag was broken and the evening began.

 There were craft activities where they could make either pirate or princess paraphernalia:

Although at times it looked more like a hospital ward.

 

 They then were broken up into three teams and had a race to find the hidden treasure (Easter Eggs) in the sandpit:

 

 

 Once the eggs were found they were returned to be counted:

 And a winning group was decided:

 The group then formed a circle:

 Where they rolled a dice and if they got a six..

 They got to go up and cut off some chocolate:

 At the end of the evening two Joeys were invested as Cubs

 Also two new chums were also invested as Cubs:

 The Sixers then led a "woof" to welcome the new Cubs

 Finally the flag was lowered and the evening came to a close.

1st Wodonga Scouts Attend Jamboree 2013 At Maryborough, Queensland

 

On New years day 2013 we had a contingent of our scout group leave Wodonga to got to the 23rd Australian Jamboree in Maryborough in Queensland from the 2nd to the 12th of January.
 




According to some of the parents they returned exhausted, happy and enthused and grown up for having had the experience.
