Indoor And Outdoor Cooking

There have been some fun cooking activities throughout the year both indoors and out doors at our campfire ring. :

Sometimes it is hot potatoes in the jackets, other times it is damper of a stick:

JOTA/JOTI 2011

On the weekend of October 15 and 16 the 1st Wodonga Scout Group hosted the district groups for the annual JOTA (Jamboree over the air)/ JOTI (Jamboree over the internet).  The tents were set up out the back and then at 2pm the opening parade was held.

The Scouts, Cubs and Joeys were sorted out into groups and sent off to the activities:

These included the JOTI.  Many interesting people from many different countries were talked to.

Lots of fun was had:

Whilst the BBQ evening meal was cooking, the teams faced off in the tug of war challenge

After the BBQ, songs were sung around the camp fire.

They all enjoyed a movie in the Scout Hall, they got to view the stars through a telescope and then it was off to bed.  The next morning a hearty breakfast of pan cakes and sausages were consumed, the camp was packed up and the tired Scouts and Cubs returned to their homes.

Cohen Shield 2011

Late in term three some of our Scouts for the first time in a long time got to test out the field craft skills down at Eldorado when they participated in the Cohen Shield.  All had a great time and they came away with the bronze award.

Well done Scouts!

Scout Bike Hike

In term three some of the Scouts undertook a bike hike from the Scout Hall, via the Lake Hume Resort, then out over the Bethanga bridge to the township of Bethanga.
